CONSULTATION

If you would like to arrange a meeting, then please get in touch with us. A consultation is the perfect opportunity to tell us about all your ideas and show us your wedding inspiration (and we really love a good wedding Pinterest board!). We try to arrange consultations in advance, which are usually held on a weekend - however if weekends are no good for you please let us know and we will be as flexible as we can. At the end of our consultation you will get to take away a bag of delicious samples to try,yummy!

A one-off charge of £20 is required in order to book a consultation, receive cake samples and to have up to three bespoke designs and quotes created for you. After that, if you decide to book in with us £20 will then be deducted from the £100 date retainer.. Click here for the full terms and conditions regarding consultations.

If you have already booked in by paying the £100 date retainer, there is no charge for the consultation.


PHONE CONSULTATION

If you live further away and can't meet up for a consultation, don't worry we can still organise every last detail via telephone and email. We have a lot of couples who can't make it to meet us in person, so we're used to working like this.

We can send a box of four cake samples via next-day delivery to you, so you still get to all the best bits of wedding planning! A one-off charge of £25 is required in order to hold a phone consultation, receive cake samples and to have up to three bespoke designs and quotes created for you. After that, if you decide to book in with us £20 will then be deducted from the £100 date retainer. (The remaining £5 covers the cost of postage and packaging).


CAKE SAMPLES

If you would like to try some cake samples we always bring some along to a consultation, but if you would like to try some before committing to meeting you can purchase a sample box cotaining four flavours for £15, if you go on to book in £10 will then be deducted from the £100 date retainer (the remaining £5 covers the cost of postage and packaging).


DESIGN

Once we have met and you have shared your ideas and your inspirations the next step is the design process. Initial bespoke designs can take up to two weeks, and longer in peak wedding season. You will receive a maximum of 3 designs and quotes, once you have received your design we can tweak any ideas from the first three designs to form one final design and quote.

Please note that according to our Ts&Cs a design needs to be finalised no less than three months before the date of your wedding, and that any changes made to the design within this period that require a new quote can not be reduced by more than 10% of the cost of the original quote.


MINIMUM SPEND

We require a minimum spend of £450 throughout peak wedding season dates from June to August. This can include a wedding cake, wedding favours and a sweet table. The mileage charge is in addition to this amount.


BOOKING

In order to book your date a non-refundable date retainer of £100 must be paid. An invoice will be sent to you and payments must be paid via BACS transfer, we do not accept cheques. Please note that no dates are held until this payment has been made.


PAYMENT

There are two payment options, firstly, you can choose to pay the remaining balance of your wedding cake in full two months before the date of your wedding. Secondly, you can split the remaining balance in to two parts and pay half three months before, then the second half two months before the date of your wedding. We will confirm your payment date(s) when you have booked, and we will send a reminder before it is due. All payments must be paid via BACS transfer. Please note that cheques are not accepted.


AVAILABILITY

Ideally we need as much notice as you can give. We regularly take bookings up to a year in advance, and in particular our diary fills up very quickly in April and between June and September. We remain closed over the Christmas and New Year period. It is always worth getting in touch to check if your date is free, click here to check our availability, below our contact form.

We will only make a maximum of three wedding cakes a week, in order to maintain our high standards of work, and we hate to disappoint so get in touch as soon as you can.


LAST MINUTE wedding cakes

A last minute wedding cake booking is anything less than four months away, if your date is free we can organise a wedding cake within four weeks if neccessary - no sweat, we've done it before! Just get in touch asap if your wedding is in less than four months, we'll check our diary and let you know our availablility as soon as possible.


AREAS COVERED

We regularly deliver to Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire,Cambridgeshire, Rutland and Leicestershire. We will also deliver wedding cakes to locations outside this area including Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Staffordshire, where certain Ts&Cs apply.

Delivery to a venue requiring car travel of over one hour and a half or over 50 miles each way, requires a minimum spend of £600. This £600 total can include a Wedding Cake, Sweet Table and Wedding Favours. Mileage to and from the venue is charged in addition to this amount, and an hourly rate of £10 for travel time. DELIVERY

When you order your wedding cake with us, you can relax in the knowledge that we will always deliver and set it up on the morning of your wedding; we are well practiced at driving slowly with precious cakes on board! We have been asked in the past if cakes could be collected, and in all honesty, it can be very stressful transporting a stacked wedding cake, so collection is not possible.

Delivery within a 15 mile radius of Grantham is free, thereafter mileage is charged at £0.45 per mile to and from your wedding venue. We will work out this mileage charge for you, when you first enquire with us.


food safety

We hold a certificate in Level 2 Food & Safety Hygiene, and hold comprehensive public liability insurance. We are also registered with the local Environmental Health Authority at the SKDC.


ALLERGENS

We regularly use nuts, dairy, gluten, wheat and soya in our kitchen, so cannot cater for serious allergies. Currently we do not offer egg free cakes. However, we are allergen aware and offer some lovely gluten free cakes (although not suitable for those who suffer severe allergies).

In our lovely kitchen we make sure that products containing nuts and gluten are stored safely in airtight boxes, and kept away from other ingredients. However, as careful as we are; we cannot guarantee that the raw products that we use in our baking have not been contaminated prior to our purchasing them.

When you get in touch with us it is very important that you inform us of any food intolerances or allergies, and those of your guests as well. If you have a small number of guests with special dietary requirements, we can offer a small batch of 6 vegan or gluten-free cupcakes so that they can enjoy some cake as well. We always supply allergen information to a venue when delivering a wedding cake, so that they can display the information once the cake has been cut and served.


VEGAN CAKES

Please note that we are not vegan cake specialists, there are many items used in cakes that may contain animal derivatives (such as icing sugar) and items that contain palm oil or its derivatives (sugar paste).


TERMS

There are certain Terms & Conditions that apply when you place an order with The Confetti cakery, when you receive your invoice for the date retainer, we also send a copy of the Ts&Cs. 


cake stand HIRE

I offer cake stands for hire at £15, which are to be returned to my home in Grantham within 48 hours of the event. Any damage or breakages must be paid for in full at a cost of £80. If  you order a sweet table, I will provide the display stands and plates at no extra charge, but these also need to be returned to me in Lincolnshire. Any items used for a sweet table that are returned with damage or lost must also be paid for.


BAKING

All of my cakes and sweet treats are made fresh to order, I always bake from scratch (no box mixes here!) and I never, ever freeze our wedding cakes or sweet treats. I always use high quality ingredients from reputable sellers. I only ever use free range eggs, the chocolate is produced by companies supporting local farmer co-operatives and always use Fairtrade where I cannot use British products.

Please note that cake samples for consultations may have been frozen, and are best eaten on the day of your consultation.
