If you're getting married and you've been lusting over Pinterest inspiration, then you can't have failed to notice one of the biggest wedding cake trends of the year - the semi-naked cake. The semi-naked cake has overtaken the popularity of naked cakes recently, it seems we prefer our cakes a little more covered up! Personally, I love them and I think that their simplicity is the secret to their appeal, and also the ease in which they can be dressed up to suit all manner of wedding styles.
The madness of the wedding season has descended, and cake decorators (and wedding businesses) across the land are thinking about one thing - making it to the end of August without having a nervous breakdown! If you don't know me, I'm Sophie owner of The Confetti Cakery, and if you do know me, you'll know that I'm nothing short of honest (perhaps a little too honest). The last few weeks have got me thinking, and I thought it may be carthartic to share a few thoughts, and give a little insight in to the life of a cake decorator. I don't speak for all cake decorators, but I'm sure there'll be a few giggles and "hell yeahs" in hot kitchens.
